Keep Condolences Brief

Calls of condolence should be made especially short, as it is a mark of inconsideration to force oneself on a hostess who is suffering a recent bereavement. About Baking Bread

The First Refugees

The edict of Nantes in 1598, granted the Protestants, known as Huguenots, full civil rights, liberty of conscience, and public worship in many places, and notably in the royal jurisdictions.
The Catholics, whose religion was essentially a state religion, had never accepted this arrangement as final, and at last, in 1685, under King Louis XIV, the edict of Nantes was revoked, and the Protestant pastors expelled from France.
Their followers were forbidden to leave the country, but many succeeded nevertheless in escaping abroad. From the Huguenots escaping an evil France, comes the concept and word we know today as refugees. ◆

They take the food provided by Nature, and do not cook their food. Can it be that man alone is created to worship the palate? Can it be that he alone is destined to be eternally suffering from disease? Those animals that live a natural life of freedom never once die of hunger. ▰

We Are Like Magnets

This animal requires little food, and will live many days without a fresh supply of water.

Taking Vaccines - Those who are the conscientious objectors to vaccination should have the courage to face all penalties or persecutions to which they may be subjected by law, and stand alone, if need be, against the whole world, in defense of their conviction.

Those who object to it merely on the grounds of health should acquire a complete mastery of the subject, and should be able to convince others of the correctness of their views, and convert them into adopting those views in practice.

But those who have neither definite views on the subject nor courage enough to stand up for their convictions should no doubt obey the laws of the state, and conduct themselves humbly and follow orders. ~ Gandhi

Cops frown on green thumbs

A 65 year-old told the Drug & Booze Agency (DBA) she did not know it was illegal to grow big quantities of cannabis without a permit. The DBA Cops took Agnes Arber in for questions. See More - Green Thumbs

When released, she found TV crews camped outside her home. "Gosh, a reporter explained how DBA cop ghouls confiscated my plants. I don’t think $500,000 was the street value," claims the green thumb spinster.

Allegedly, Agnes sold plants to a fake hemp broker to use as twine in artisanal macramé designs. The plants are now in the DBA storage center and may be used as evidence against her in a court of law.

Agnes is charged with unlicensed cannabis cultivation and faces up to one year in the slammer. She hopes for just a small fine and a slap on the wrist since she likes to keep busy making quilts and weaving. ● Click to Close
